V0.5.2 Inventory!


Hey all! Big update today! There's a new inventory system and menu implemented! Spent the better part since last update cleaning up the backend item and inventory code to categorize all the shop items into neat menus. This means a) placing more consumables into the world b) placing more materials for future selling/crafting systems c) future menus for changing combat equipment!!

Super excited going forward with all this heavy work out of the way. Check out the apple crate in the new hub too!

Patch Notes:

General

  • New inventory menu, pulled up by [I] on the keyboard
    • Currently only supporting mouse and keyboard interaction 
    • Separated into Equipment and Materials menus
    • Hovering over slots displays a tooltip about the item
    • Right-clicking attempts to use item in slot
      • Only valid for the new Apple consumable

Shop

  • New apple item available on start to purchase for 500 gold
    • Recovers 2 health on use

Interactions

  • Fixed bug with multiple interactions firing at same time
    • If throwable object was near NPC, interaction would cause both throw action and NPC dialogue
  • New recovery apple that restores 1 health on interaction
  • New apple crate in HUB area that restores 1 health on interaction, unlimited uses
  • When throwable objects are destroyed, random chance to spawn a recovery health item
